Review: The Face Shop Seaweed Mask-Truly a Skin Saver

I'm a HUGE fan of face masks but I also want something that goes beyond cute packaging or nifty idea, I want something that works. I ran out of my St. Ives firming clay mask so I needed another mask that would firm and get control blackheads and breakouts. The Face Shop Seaweed Mask does just that, it firms and helps to reduce inflammation in pimples as well as reduce the number of blackheads and whiteheads.

The mask retails for $13 USD which is quite expensive for a face mask but you only need to use it once or twice a week and so it does last a long time since you only need a little bit each time you use it.

The product is a seaweed green color and it does have a smell to it but nothing unbearable. A lot of sea related products tend to smell bad and I don't think that's the case with this product. You clean your face, pat dry and apply this product and leave on for 15 minutes and then rinse off.

The product is quite wet in the beginning and is more of a lighter color when its wet (I'm rocking it below)

Then when it dries it is considerably dry and turns darker in color so you know its really to be washed off. Wash off with lukewarm water and you will notice a difference in terms of your skin feeling more clean and firm. This mask does leave a powdery residue but nothing you can't remove with some toner. Then apply serums and moisturizers as you normally do. Overall I highly recommend this product because it really works. I noticed my pimples would shrink and blackheads would be fewer. 4 out of 5 stars, I do have to take one star off for the price but still love this product.

Review: The Face Shop Brightening Rice Water Cleansing Oil Migamsu

Retails for $15 USD at The Face Shop store before taxes. Its a cleansing oil so what you do is get a few pumps on this on DRY hands (usually two is enough for my entire face) and then rub it on your face to melt away all the makeup. Then you wet your hands a little bit and once again rub on your face, the cleansing oil becomes a milky consistency. After 30 seconds of this second time rubbing, wash away the cleansing oil with lukewarm water and your face shop be clean and makeup free.

What I like about this product is the consistency, its more watery than some of the other cleansing oils I have used and I like it better because it feels less sticky and heavy on my face. It also smells wonderful which I find a lot of other cleansing oils have a weird smell to them. I think the consistency is less think because the primary ingredient is rice water. It removes makeup wonderfully, I don't feel like I need to go over it again with another cleanser. My face does not feel oily after I wash this product off. The size of the product is not very big but I think you don't need a lot of product. I think it can last me about three months. I think if you have sensitive skin or oily skin then this might be one of the few cleansing oils you can actually use because it will not break you out and it is not overly oily so it will not make your face oily. Overall, I really recommend this product and I do think I will be repurchasing it in the future.

Garnier Nutritioniste Anti-Dark Circle Eye Roller

I saw this at CVS and although it was a whopping $13.99 I just couldn't resist getting it. I've been seeing the commercials for it and it sounds made for me. It has the caffeine formula that targets dark circles and puffiness like the original garnier eye roller but it has an additional mineral formula that conceals dark undereye circles as well. I was really skeptical as to how well the concealing part would work but much more curious to try it and see how well the formula of the product works for targeting undereye circles over time. I tried it and the first time I fell in love with it. The concealer comes in only one shade but I'm relatively fair so it fit well for me. It blended in easily and it definitely make the dark undereye area look less noticeable. The caffeine definitely woke me up and made my eyes less puffy. Then I started to put it in my mini fridge because I wondered if the cooling effect would make the formula work even better and low and behold it does! And its a great pick me up to have something nice and cool to make me up in the  morning. 5 out of 5 stars! It is a little pricey for drugstore so if you can wait for a sale or coupon, I would recommend that.

Lush Mask of Magnaminty

This is a pale green mask whose main ingredients are peppermint and ground aduki beans. Its $11.95 for the 4.4oz, which is the size I have and its good for three months which is a lot longer than most of their masks which are only good for a few weeks. Its a really thick paste that you spread on your face. Its extremely cooling, good for reducing redness and inflammation from pimples. It also claims to deep clean, which I'm not sure how well it works in that regard. Its so cooling that it definitely helped reduce inflammation on pimples for me, however, during the winter when its already cold it can be too cold for my face. It is also a bit difficult to remove, you really have to work a little bit to rinse it off your face. Overall, I think its pretty fun to try! Oh! and if you keep the black plastic jars and when you save 5 of them you can exchange them for a mask of your choice for free!

The first two pictures with my face in them are what the mask looks like right after it is applied and the second two are what it looks like when its dried and time to be washed off.
